Periodontal (Gum) Treatment
Healthy gums are the foundation for a healthy smile. Periodontal disease is caused by the bacteria in the plaque, a sticky, colorless film that forms on your teeth. The plaque bacteria have toxins that inflame the gums. If the plaque is not properly removed by brushing and flossing your teeth daily and by routine visits with your hygienist you can loose your teeth.
A few signs that you might have gum disease are: red, puffy gums that bleed easily, constant bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth, changes in the way your teeth fit together when you bite or sore/tender gums. These are a few reasons that it is important to see your dentist regularly.
